Enlisted as a E-1 with a Rating of Aviaton Boatswain Mate Handler (ABH).  Upon Honorable Discharge I was an Petty Offcer Third Class
 (E-4).  Also I earned my Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (EAWS) designation. Served aboard the USS Wasp (LHD-1) based in Norfolk, VA. Spent 6 months in Operation Desert Storm. Served 2 years at SIMA Portsmouth, Portsmouth, VA

Simeon Ashley Hutchings 1863-1864 Fifth New York cavalry; was taken prisoner in an engagement in Virginia soon after, and after the war his grave was discovered as No. 3112 in the National Cemetery at Andersonville, Ga., where are buried the victims of Andersonville prison.

A, October 4, 1861; promoted corporal, prior to October, 1863; wounded in action in June, 1864, before Petersburg, Va.; discharged, October 11, 1864, at Elmira, N. Y.
Uriah Hutchings  1861-1862 76th Regt NY Vol. ("Cortland Volunteers") Enlisted at Cortland, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. A, October 9, 1861; discharged for disability, October 22, 1862, at Philadelphia, Pa   
Rofus Hutchings 1861-1864 76th Regt. NY Vol. ("Cortland Volunteers") He enlisted on 8 Oct 1861 in Cortland as a private. He was
honorably discharged on the 14 Nov 1864. He was in the battle at Chancellorsville, VA in May
1863.
